Preparation of the dough- In the mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar and yeast.- Add the warm water and knead until a homogeneous dough is obtained.- Cover with a clean tea towel and leave to rest for 1 hour.
Shaping the baguette- Preheat oven to 220°C.- Divide the dough into four portions and shape into elongated baguettes.- Place the baguettes on the baking sheet and lightly incise them on top.- Spray baguettes with water to create a crisp crust.
Baking- Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Cooling- Cool baguettes on a wire rack for 15 minutes.
Tip
🥖🍞 For an even crispier crust, place a small container of water in the bottom of the oven during baking. The steam will help form a beautiful golden crust! 💧✨
