Preheat oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a muffin tin or baking tray.
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to form a large rectangle.
In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and flour. Add the egg and beat well.
Pour the sugar-flour-egg mixture into the saucepan with the hot milk, stirring constantly.
Continue stirring until the mixture thickens to a cream. Remove from heat, add vanilla extract and stir. Leave to cool.
Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle. Spread the cooled crème pâtissière over the pastry and sprinkle with raisins.
Roll up the dough to form a roll. Cut the roll into slices about 2 cm thick.
Arrange the slices in the muffin tin or on the baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
Using a kitchen brush, lightly brush the slices with a little milk.
Bake in preheated oven for about 20 minutes, until golden and crisp.
If desired, sprinkle baked raisin breads with powdered sugar. Optionally, brown the loaves with melted butter.
Leave to cool slightly before serving.
Tip
🌟 For an extra touch of indulgence, you can sprinkle baked raisin loaves with powdered sugar or brown them with a little melted butter. These little finishing touches add a crunchy texture and deliciously sweet flavor to your raisin breads.🥖
